Gourmet Dining Events

At the Tollgate Inn we regularly hold Gourmet dining events, this involves a six course dinner and includes all Champagne and wines through out the dinner and is always introduced by either one of our wine suppliers, or a wine producer who’s wines we support.

Alfresco Barbeque 11th July 2008 7pm

  1. Dine in the garden with musical entertainment by Claire Covington £15 per person

Minute steaks marinated in red wine olive oil and lemon, Home cured bacon steaks with smoked paprika and tabasco, Lamb and mint sausages. Fresh sardines marinaded in garlic and herbs. Salmon terriyake kebabs. Jerk style chicken kebabs

Salads of Spicy cous cous with raisins, corriander and tumeris, Celeriac remoularde, New local potatoes with chopped mint, Tomatoes, red onions, capers and olive oil. Pasta, peas, beans and feta cheese with olive oil and lemon dressing.

Dessert , Local strawberries and cream

  2. "A French affair" " An evening in Provence

presented by Fiona drysdale and Chef Marie-Pierre Moine £55 per person to include all wines from the Provence and Languedoc

Upon arrival and once seated in the garden a range of dishes from Marie-Pierre Moine's repertoire

Roustides d'anchois Anchovy toasts

 

Canapes de figues au fromage de brebis,

a great dish from Provence fresh figs, creamy soft ewes cheese and local honey with a grinding of black pepper , served with accompanying wine

Morue Fraiche sauce Rialto ,

Fresh cod fillet sauteed and served with a Rialto red wine sauce, black olives onions , tomatoes, fennel, capers, garlic and gherkins, servexd on a bed of olive oil mash , served with accompanying wine

Duck a l'orangeFree range chicken,

a classic dish of sauteed dusck breast with a rich ornage sauce served on a bed of roasted summer root vegetables dressed with a chervil butter sauce , wine to accompany

Roquefort cheese

served with raisins, walnuts and grapes maserated in sauternes served with home made walnut bread, wine to accompany

Classic Tarte au Citron

with local starwberry coulis, wine to accompany

Coffee with chocolate and lavender meringues
